For those of you that dont know, we have been working on this event for 2 years, 1 year part time while we managed an apartment building in Surfers Paradise and full time for the past year. We have been working with a video production team who were planning to travel with us filming everything for us and doubling as our support team. The video producer has, over this period of time, been in the process of converting a Hino bus to a motor home to do the trip. Even though over the past few weeks we have been assured by him that all would be ready in time to start the trip, he advised us today that it will be another 6 - 7 weeks until the bus is completed. This has sent us into complete turmoil and has given us heaps to think about. We now have to make a decision as to whether we start without the video team by ourselves or whether we delay the event. We desperately dont want to delay the start but traveling without a support team causes us problems as we need storage space. We are having a meeting on Sunday to discuss this and will let you know the outcome. On the up side we purchased a caravan today, which we will be decking out mostly for storage of clothes, merchandising items etc from Tony Cutts in Ipswich. More work for us both to do with Garry making the structural changes required and Doreen making new covers, curtains etc so it looks nice inside. Receiving lots of emails from the Shire Councils in NSW and VIC at the moment, most of them are really helpful and some and organising special fundraising events while we are in their town. Its really wonderful to have so much support and even though things arent exactly going smoothly we are bound and determined to do this event. Will update you soon regarding our latest crisis.
