We spent the morning sorting through more items that need to be left behind as we cant fit everything in. We have left boxes of items for Doreens mother and father and Sarah to send items to us as we travel when we request them. For those of you who dont know, this event started because of Doreens mother. She has had 3 hip and 2 knee replacements over the past 12 years. She has also had a mastectomy during that period but recovered fully from that unlike the arthritis. Doreen began to research arthritis and found to her horror that there are 3.4 million Australians with the disease, 60 percent of which are between 15 and 65 and one in 1000 children. We both also noticed that there is little to no support for arthritis so decided to try to do something to change it. So you know who we are talking about and considering there are no photos from today we decided to put a photo of Doreens mother and 80 year old father on so you can picture who we are talking about. The other photo is of our daughter Jade with five of our grandchildren.
We went down to Beau and Angelas for lunch to spend a bit of time with them and our three eldest grandchildren before we leave. :Luckily Nathan doesnt have Arthritis so we were pleased with that news. We drove the truck down as Beau is going to continue to advertise it and try to sell it for us after we leave tomorrow. We only just fitted it in their yard but really dont have anywhere else we can leave it. Being white and just repainted it is a perfect target for graffiti. We had a very nice lunch with them but really couldnt stay for hours. Beau ran us home mid afternoon and then we went off to visit Paul, Pam, Rhys and Paige. We couldnt stay to long here either with still plenty to do at home before we leave tomorrow.
We were home in time for the usual Sunday dinner with everyone and then Doreen spent the evening sending a few more emails out and updating her database and diary so we know what we are doing for the next week at least. Its a complicated job and she is having a lot of trouble with balance at the moment which is as a result of brain bruising and inner ear damage from a car accident a few years ago. She hasnt had problems for ages but all of a sudden old symptoms are reappearing. We didnt have a late night as tomorrow we have lots to do before we leave.
