Blackmores had organised an event for us today at Carseldine outside the Chemist to fundraise. We had to be there at 9.45am so we were up pretty early. It wasnt a very nice day and was raining when we left but was just overcast by the time we reached Carseldine which was way over on the north side so almost as far as riding to another town when we are on the road. We arrived on time but had to wait a while to eventually find three parking spaces outside the chemist to put the trike and Retrovan. Finally in a position to set up we prepared ourselves to fundraise. Blackmores State Manager and one of their representatives called in to visit us and have a first hand look at Arthur and Martha. They were pretty impressed with them both. They didnt stay for long and then Kym from Arthritis Queensland arrived as a bit of moral support. It wasnt a great success unfortunately as there wasnt too many people around, probably because of the overcast conditions. We did raise a little money as you can see but as we have found in the past city slickers are not as generous with donations as the country folk are for some reason. By 12 oclock we decided to pack up and return home as it was raining again so not much chance of too many people around. We also cant keep the Retrovan open for people to see when it rains as everything in the back gets wet.
Another pretty quiet day with neither of us doing too much regarding the event, just taking advantage of the break. Doreen had a good long conversation with Beau and Angela and made arrangements to visit them on Tuesday night for dinner. They had plans for the weekend so had to wait until Tuesday as Beau goes to college Monday and Wednesday nights. April also rang and said that she would come down for a visit with Zoe tomorrow which Doreen is looking forward to as Zoe is changing so much every time she sees her. Not much else happened except for a big fight with our computer as it decided to go on a go slow and none of the clean up programs would work so Doreen spent a few hours sorting it all out and then did mandatory virus scans and other stuff to make sure we dont have a major collapse or anything as that would be a disaster.
