Garry and Doreen plan to travel around Australia riding a VW trike, travelling Monday to Friday with Saturday & Sunday as lay-days unless there is a special event planned in the town they are visiting and then they will participate giving trike rides to the public.

They plan to visit as many small country towns and schools as possible giving talks about Arthritis Foundation of Australia, raising funds and increasing public knowledge of Arthritis and outback Australia. The VW trike will be one of a kind and will be the main focus of the event. The trike will be used to give rides to the public in return for a gold coin donation. Other fund raising plans include the sale of photos of the public on the trike presented in a certificate, the sale of 'Trike Around Australia' merchandising items, raffles and auctions.

The only other participants in the event will be a video production team who will accompany Garry and Doreen, travelling in 2 separate buses. The video team includes Norm Trenfield (Video Producer) and Annette Turner (Video Assistant). They will be recording all activities and places of interest in order to produce a documentary and/or TV series from the video footage on completion of the event. Photos taken during the event will be used to produce calendars and along with a daily journal will also be used to construct a book on completion of the event.
